Dr Wheat has a background in psychology and health care research - with over 13 years’ experience of applying research methodology to health care issues. Dr Wheat has expertise in a range of qualitative and evaluation methods. She has conducted high volume qualitative studies examining how communication practices affect the outcomes of health care interactions and led the qualitative component of evaluations of complex interventions. She currently leads the realist evaluation of the primary care-based model of personalised care for both people with dementia and carers (Dementia PersonAlied Care Team – D-PACT).
