Fiona is a Registered General Nurse with 35 years of experience. For 25 of those years, she has worked as a Practice Nurse, developing an interest in diabetes since completing her Diabetes Diploma at Huddersfield University in 2002.
She has run diabetes clinics in primary care since then, leading to her becoming the diabetes lead in general practice.
Her educator career began in 2009 when she trained as a nurse educator for the pilot of the national diabetes prevention programme.
She feels blessed to be able to combine her two passions: educating and caring for people with diabetes and has worked with the EDEN team for almost 2 years.
Her ongoing work with clinical pharmacists, ‘COMPLEMENT’ (complete mentoring and diabetes education for clinical pharmacists) has been award winning.
